Residential Treatment

What We Offer

At Touchstone Residential Treatment, we provide
consumers with intensive, short-term treatment. Residents usually come to the program following hospitalization or instead of hospitalization.

We serve up to 14 persons at a time in a supportive, comfortable, and structured therapeutic environment. Typically, consumers stay about 90 days. We provide supportive services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Residents participate in groups and individual counseling and practice living independently. In this friendly environment, they help each other by sharing their problems and living cooperatively. We also encourage use of supportive services in the community.

We support achievement of each person’s goals, including:

  • Working with the individual to develop a personalized wellness-recovery plan
  • Helping the consumer to build skills in illness and symptom management
  • Assisting the resident with medications and health
    care services
  • Educating the individual about health and wellness
  • Helping the person to develop meaningful activities
    and relationships
  • Teaching the resident skills such as housekeeping, money management, and meal preparation
  • Providing the resident with an integrated approach to
co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse
  • Offering the individual the opportunity to participate in a weekly community meeting
  • Offering education and support to consumers’ families and friends, with the individual’s permission
  • Finding and arranging for the resident’s post-
    treatment housing
