Our clients are more than a diagnosis – and Touchstone is so much more than a mental health nonprofit.
What began 34 years ago by five social workers coming together to find a new approach for their clients living with serious mental illness, has transformed into an award winning organization with over 200 staff serving more than 1,200 clients in our community. Despite this growth, we have remained true to our founding principles, a commitment to treating the whole person through an integration of physical and mental health with health and wellness practices.
Beyond mental health, we also focus new and innovative ways to combine our mental health work with basic human and social services to improve our client’s quality of lives.
In the last year, donations from supporters have allowed us to buy beds for clients who were sleeping on the floor of their apartment, and provide health and wellness services to address the health inequities they face. We’ve covered the cost of medication co-pays that insurance companies won’t, purchased prescription eye glasses for clients so they can see, covered the application fees for apartments to move clients into stable housing, and provided emergency basic needs like winter coats and boots.
All of this was made possible by your generosity, support, and your steadfast belief in our vision and mission.
As we prepare for our 35th anniversary celebration next year, I wanted to challenge each of you to join me and find that entrepreneurial spirit that lives inside each of us; to help Touchstone to continue to dream big and remain on the vanguard of mental illness treatment. Because our clients, our neighbors, our family – they are more than just a diagnosis.
By becoming a monthly Sustaining Member like me, you ensure that we have the needed funds that allow us to continue to be innovative, to move our organization to where our clients needs us to be, and to continue to remake the mental health landscape like our five founders did 34 years ago.
Please, consider joining me as a monthly Sustaining Member. Because we are so much more than a mental health nonprofit.
